It’s that time of the year again when we’re force fed the idea that we need to be better. Different. Thinner. Stronger. Smarter. We need to work harder. Sleep better. Drink Less. Drink more. Give up bread. Have more sex. Do more yoga. Quit snoring. Turn our phones off. Read more. Do less. Do more.
It’s exhausting! And it makes us wonder––”do I just need to be a whole new me?”
Heck NO!
What we need is to love ourselves more. To get to know ourselves more. To dig in and uncover why we’re always trying to be anything but our truest self.
Does this mean there isn’t room to be healthier? More fulfilled? Keenly in tune to our soul?
Nope.
What it does mean is that instead of believing that there’s something wrong with you, that there’s parts of you that need to be completely and wholly different, you instead acknowledge that there are beautiful parts of you that are yet to be uncovered. That you embrace the are parts of you that want to be healed, nurtured, and loved. That you begin a journey toward change with the purest intentions.
So this new year, you don’t need a new you, you need you. Here are a few ways that we can all get in touch with the deepest most beautiful parts of ourselves.
In this season of new beginnings, I hope that you’ll find more love and gratitude for yourself. I hope that you’ll show yourself some compassion and trust that you are held and cared for by the universe.
We’re all beautiful and worthy of not just a happy ending but of a joyous beginning and middle as well.
Here’s to a happy year and a happy you!
