The Five Minute Journal ~ Practicing Gratitude Every Day

The Five Minute Journal ~ Practicing Gratitude Every Day

Those of you who read my blog regularly know how big I am on gratitude. Being thankful is thee most important thing you can do to fuel your own happiness. I believe in the power of gratitude so much that I made it part of my handy 555 Formula for instant happiness.

I know. It’s not always easy to be grateful. We get caught up in the negative, the busyness of life, and before we know it, days have gone by without us feeling thankful for who we are and what we have.

But what if there were a way to practice gratitude every day? A way for it to become part of our routine like getting a shower, brushing your teeth, and walking the dog.

Well…there is! It’s called The Five Minute Journal.

The Journal is a beautiful little book, that if used for five minutes a day, will transform your life.

Here’s how it works.

Each page of the Journal begins with an inspiring quote and then prompts you to answer five questions such as, “List three amazing things that happened today.”

The journaling starts when you wake up in the morning. Take two to three minutes before getting out of bed to answer the first three questions on the page. Then before going to sleep at night, spend a couple of minutes answering the last two questions on the page.

That’s it. So simple. So quick. So effective.

The Journal has made a huge difference in my life. I enjoy the routine of starting and ending my day with gratitude. I feel lighter and happier. What’s truly amazing to me is that all this joy has been created by spending only five minutes a day writing in the Journal.

Stay tuned next week for Part 2 of this post, when I interview one of the creators of The Five Minute Journal, Toronto based UJ Ramdas. He’s an inspiring, thought-provoking guy. You won’t want to miss it.

Until then, keep vibrating gratitude.
