I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions. But when January 1st rolls around, I am big on doing a spiritual tune up to make sure I’m feeding my soul. Here are a few ideas that have inspired me to spruce up my inner framework in 2014.
All IS possible, including me finally cracking open the Rosetta Stone French course that I bought last summer. I’ll be oui, oui, oui-ing all the way through 2014. Is there something you’ve been wanting to learn? Guitar? Painting? Wine tasting? Cooking? Get on it my friends. You’d be amazed how much progress you can make in 365 days.
If you only have one mantra for 2014, this should be it. Your thoughts are everything. How you feel. How you look. What you manifest for yourself. Think grand, amazing, beautiful thoughts because you don’t deserve anything less than a grand, amazing, beautiful life.
Letting go of the past is crucial for moving forward. Even the good things in the past can hold us back from truly experiencing life if we compare them to what we have right now. Teddy Roosevelt once said that comparison is the thief of joy. And boy was he right.
Play more. Worry less. I took a recent trip to Lake Placid, New York to celebrate Christmas and my birthday. I only had one thing on my agenda – PLAY. And play I did. I cross-country skied and made snow angels. It was so refreshing to act like a kid. I hardly used my phone. I shut out everything and only had fun. It was exactly what the soul doctor called for.
Believe that the universe has your back. Because when you truly believe that, the best is always yet to come. Here’s to a big, happy New Year!
